I LOVE MY CAT!!!

I used to hate cats (I used to love the expression that they were "a waste of good fur) but that was before we got Toby. We had been badgered by our kids to get a pet. Since we couldn't get a dog (we travel too much and don't have much of a yard), we decided to take the plunge and get our girls a kitten. This was quite the stretch since my hubby felt the same way about cats as I did. I found Toby in a pet store (couldn't find a farm that was giving away kittens at the time) and we hit it off right away. Our girls were so surprised when I brought him home. He has been the subject of many a fight between them ever since - they fight over who gets to hold him next. Anyway, Toby is such a nice pet. It took us two years to figure out a name for him - he's got such a great personality that none of the names fit him. He is quiet most of the time but can be a lot of fun too. He loves to chase anything that resembles a reflection anywhere in the house. We give him exercise every night by pointing a laser pointer up and down the stairs. He loves it and meows like crazy every night until he gets his workout. Josh is thrilled just to have another male in the house and wrestles with him on a regular basis. Anyway, I've always wanted to express how thankful I am for a really great pet.

That's what makes them so fun.

Nice kitty.

Your story is quite similar to mine, except without the pestering of the child-folken.

I'm learning to live with the cat, even if it has turned my mornings on their heads.

the worst time is when they're really little. It felt like we had another new born. He was so needy in the mornings - he would wake us up - sometimes even in the middle of the night. It was exhausting.

Oh, (blinking innocently) I have no idea what you mean.
